Last week on Thursday, Room 3 as well as Room 16 were lucky enough to meet Snowflake - the Elliott's sisters lamb. She was extremely cute and not at all phased by all of the Room 3 kids patting her beautiful soft wool. We all got to see Samantha feeding her - a chore Sam and her sister do every morning bright and early! Thank you so much Samantha and her mum Kate for bringing her in - we all loved her nappy too!
Room 3 have started growing our little gardens. We are having a competition with our 'BFF' class - Room 2. This means we have to see how our little seeds will grow over the holidays and in class. We have been building glasshouses with tinfoil, glad wrap, bamboo sticks and straws to help our gardens and vegetables grow better. Leek, radish, carrot, eggplant are just a few things that we have been trying to grow. WATCH THIS SPACE!
What an incredible day we had at Polyfest at the Edgar Centre in Dunedin. We realised how many people were watching not only in the audience but through live stream at school and home. We sang two songs 'E Minaka Ana' and 'Ōtākou E' and performed the Sasa. Awesome effort to the Kapa Haka group, you all looked and sounded amazing out there!
Today we watched a performance in the hall from 1.30pm until 2.30pm. This was like no other performance we have seen before! The characters spoke in Te Reo Māori and they sang a lot of beautiful songs. We thought the actresses and actors were very talented, entertaining and best of all - they made us laugh!
We have been making our 3D Sellotape sculpture shoes. We started by wrapping a layer of tape around a shoe sticky side out. Once the shoe was completely covered we turned the tape around and wrapped the shoe with the sticky side in. Next up was decorating the shoe with fabric and writing an advertisement to encourage people to buy our shoe! Pop in and check them out.
